THIS OLD HOUSE OF MINE.

[Chorus]
"Ain’t gonna need this house no longer
Ain't gonna need this house no more
Ain't got time to fix the shingles
Ain’t got time to fix the floor
Ain't got time to oil the hinges
Nor to mend the window-pane
Ain't gonna need this house no longer
I'm gettin' ready to meet the saints."

Yes,
that was my house many, many, many
years ago.  It was a God send in it's day.
Many memories are contained in it.
But, God provided us with a new house
further up the hill.

Of course the picture was taken after
it had sit abandoned for a long time.
And, I confess, I enjoyed tearing it
down by my self.  [Well, with the help
of an occasional grand son.]

So, I had an old house and now I
have a new house.  That is the way
it will be for those who have a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ.  We live
in our old house here on earth.  But then
when we die we go to live in our new
house in heaven with God himself.

Read about it;

"For we know that when this
earthly tent we live in is taken
down (that is, when we die and
leave this earthly body), we will have
a house in heaven, an eternal body
made for us by God himself and not
by human hands.  We grow weary
in our present bodies, and we long
to put on our heavenly bodies like
new clothing.  For we will put on
heavenly bodies; we will not be spir-
its without bodies.  While we groan
and sigh, but it's not that we want to
die and get rid of these bodies that
clothe us.  Rather, we want to put on
our new bodies so that these dying
bodies will be swallowed up by life.
God himself has prepared us for
this, and as a guarantee he has given
us his Holy Spirit."
(2 Corinthians 5:1-5 NLT)
