OLD COMPUTERS

.

OLD COMPUTERS.

You no doubt have seen the adds too.
"New life for old computers".

HA, HA, HA, HA.
Really, I have no complaint.  But when I
saw the add I was tempted.  I have several
old computers laying around and to be able
to put new life into them with just a little
flash drive.  Amazing, I want one.  Why
even my newer computers could use a new
burst of energy.

There was only one problem.  My
computers were too old.  What they meant
by old was late model to me.  I do not
remember seeing what operating systems
this new burst of energy would work with
in the ad.  And apparently my old computers
are "pre-historic".  So, now what.

Well, the sound system on the computer
I had my music in went bad.  So, I turned
the little OLD computer in the picture above
into my new sound system.  It now has
eleven hours of the kind of music I like
- Not what you like - down loaded into it.
The gadget I bought might not have worked
for me.  But I thank God that it made me
do something with that old computer that
is a real blessing to me.

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS

A few years ago my wife and daughter wanted
me to make a cross and put it up in the yard.
One of my favorite hymns is "The Old Rugged
Cross."  Of course that was the thought that
kept going through my mind.  So nothing slick
or fancy would do.  It needed to be old and rugged.

You guessed it.  I make it out of old railroad ties.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creature; the old things
passed away; behold new things
have come."
(2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB)

Tired of your old life.
Don't only start a new year,
but get into a relationship with Jesus Christ and
start a new life.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WANT

I spotted the little tractor above at a friend's place one
day. After looking it over good  and seeing it was a
well built little tractor, old and just sitting there, I
confess to wishing I had it.

It had a hydraulic powered draw bar, wheel weights and
a hydrostatic transmission.  It would be a lot stronger
tractor than the little thing I had.

In time my friend wanted me to get it running for him.
So, I brought it to my shop and "fixed" a bunch of stuff
to get it going.  Then returned it to my friend.

It was being used around his farm pulling a mower.
My friend has a lot of volunteer help because of the
camp connected to the farm.  So the tractor was being
used a lot by "young boys".

You guessed it.  They ran it out of oil.  So, back to my
shop to go through the engine.

Does it surprise you that now I am content to not
have that little tractor?

OH BOY - GRAND KIDS

Grand parents like to show off their grandchildren.

This one is my great grand daughter.
In contrast to most "kids" I caught her here
doing something worth while.  Of course how
long that will last may be something else.

"Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it."
(Proverbs 22:6 NASB)

FLYING CONTRAPTION

Faster than walking around the lake.
More fun too.

I do hold the distinction of being the second
oldest rider on this zip line.  But then, I'm
only 83.  I have been beat by a woman.
She was 92 I think.  That is embarrassing.

GROW OLD

"I am old now;  I have lived a long time,
but I have never seen good people
abandoned by the LORD or their
children begging for food."
(Psalm 37 25 TEV)
