TEEPEES

O.K.
So I did not spell Teepee the way you want.
Teepee can be spelled several ways and I have
not taken time to ask any of my Indian friends.
They live in houses and might not know anyway.

Teepee can also be spelled, Tipi or Tepee.  Or
so the internet tells me.  Perhaps the ones above
are a "Tipi" and a "Teepee".  I don't know.

The ones above are (were) at Fort Rock Family
Camp.  They were put up for when there was
overflow conditions causing a bedroom shortage.
And of course the kids like that kind of camping.

However.
It was found that when there was not a camp
going on, the cows liked the Teepees as well
as the kids did.

Cows and Teepees do not mix well.
So, the Teepees are gone now.

PETS OR KIDS?

Found this sign in a home near by.
I know, it's not real exciting, but it's telling.

It tells me that the person who put the sign up
has run into his/her share of undisciplined kids.
My wife and I have noticed over the years that
very few children anymore have been disciplined.
In short, most kids today are "spoiled brats".
But the truth is, we cannot blame the kids.
You guess who is to blame for not disciplining
then.

BIG GUN IN THE SHOP

SILAS, THE BIG GUN IN THE SHOP.

I was donating some time at Fort Rock Family camp
when Silas came walking in with the cordless drill
hanging on to his pocket.   He was wanting to do a
man's job.  But as we say, "He is a little short in the
britches" to be much help.

But I do like to let the kids help some.  They have
to learn too.  But as you know.  Too much help and
you don't get anything at all done.

But, I still call them helpers.

THE PUMP

The old iron pump.
To the little kids this old pump seems to be one
of the biggest attractions at Fort Rock Family Camp.

It does not pump from a real well or cistern, but
in under it is a tank supplied with city water.
[O.K., country water]

I do not know how many times I have had to
either repair or overhaul that old pump.  The
kids just love pumping water for all they are
worth.
