Not your usual home decoration I know.
A few years ago my wife and daughter
wanted me to build a cross out in front of
the house. Of course the first thought that
came into my mind was the song,
"The Old Rugged Cross".
In my opinion a few shinny two by fours
did not represent the old rugged cross. So,
I made this one out of old railroad ties.
“On a hill far away stood an old
rugged cross, the emblem of
suffering and shame; and I love
that old cross where the dearest
and best for a world of lost sinners
was slain.
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a
crown.”
