Years ago when I was younger, probably only
about eighty years old, I thought I would start
a small business to keep me busy and add a
small income.
Being a retired auto mechanic and enjoying
working with small engines it only made sense
to me to start a small engine repair shop.
So, I went around flee markets and so on
buying up chain saws and weed eaters that
did not run. The idea was to repair and then
resell them.
But, I did not clear it with God first. I just
did what seemed logical to me. The Scriptures
say;
"We can make our plans,
but the LORD determines
our steps."
(Proverbs 16:9 NLT)
In time the LORD made it clear to me that
was not what he wanted me to do. As we
would say, I had run off half cocked. So
I took a small pickup load of chain saws
and weed eaters to a sale. They sold all right,
but did not bring enough money to pay for
my gas of taking them to the sale.
CHECK WITH GOD FIRST.
