ONLY NOISE

ONLY NOISE

This is a cannon I made years ago designed 

to only make noise.  You know, a loud bang.

As you can imagine the grand kids enjoyed it.

It was only this last week that I finally loaded

it up and took it to Fort Rock Family Camp to

see if they could do anything with it.  Their

cannon broke down.  Well, fell apart.

But, that silly thing reminds me of many people

I have meet over my long life.  They only make

noise.  They do not accomplish anything in life.

They may be "good old boys" that everybody

likes.  They may entertain you in some way and

be pleasant to be around.  But, when life is over,

what did they accomplish for themselves or 

for humanity?

The truth of the matter is, none of us can accomplish

anything of lasting value unless we "get hooked up"

with, or into a relationship with Jesus Christ.  It is

only then as the very life of God Himself is manifest

through us that anything worth while is accomplished.

With God's help I want to be more than a mock 

cannon that only makes a noise.
