HE HAS RISEN

"The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid;
for I know that you are looking for Jesus who
has been crucified.  He is not here, for He has
risen, just as He said.  Come, see the place where
He was lying.  Go quickly and tell His disciples
that He has risen from the dead;"
- Matthew 28:5-7a NASB

SHOPPING WITH JESUS

I'm not as good at shopping as my wife,
or yours.  So I have learned to ask God
for his help - even shopping.

I wanted another chair for my hide away
out in the woods.

My criterion was:
1. Simple.  You know plain.
Nothing fancy to break
down or have to clean.

2. Stout.  Strong.  Sturdy.

3. CHEAP.  I did not want to
pay more than five to ten dollars.

I ask God to help me.  To go before
me and prepare my way.

I headed for a couple of thrift shops.
The first shop only had clothes.  Nothing
a man would be interest in.

I felt impelled to try a shop I had never
been in before.

Yep.  Bingo or what ever.  There up on
a shelf was an old metal framed chair.
It had a nice padded bottom.  Cool.
and a nice padded back rest.

The price was only $7.99.  O.K.!

I put it up on the counter to pay.
The girl said, "That will be .50
cents."  Hey girl the tag says $7.99.

She said yes.  But it is a green tag.
And today all green tags are .50 cents.

THANK YOU JESUS.

WHO IS THE SMARTEST?

You have ridden more horses than I have. But my experience on a number of horses over the years tells me they can be contrary critters. Even "broken" horses. They all have a mind of their own. Now you know why I ride motorcycles instead.

They tell me that a horse cannot be ridden until it is broken. At least ridden safely. Why would it want to do your bidding anyway? So until it is broken it does what it wants, not what you want. And donkeys have a reputation of being even more stubborn.

The picture above is not a horse. It is a donkey - on purpose. And young donkeys, just like young horses are called "colts". At least in the Scriptures. That's what Jesus rode, a young donkey. The old version of the Bible called a donkey an "ass".

I read something again today of interest. When Jesus was getting ready to go to Jerusalem on what we call his "Triumphant Entry", his request to the disciples was to get a very specific "colt".

"As soon as you get there, you will find a colt tied up that has never been ridden"
-Mark 11:2 (TEV)

Jesus - the very creator of the universe - got on that donkey colt and rode it to Jerusalem with out a whimper from it. He did not even have to break it.

Why is it that we will not yield to our vary creator unless he breaks us, but that "dumb ass" yielded with out a complaint.

Are donkeys smarter than us????

NEEDS OIL

Best compressor I ever had. Bought it used. It outlasted one new one, then out worked another new one. They just don't make them like that anymore.

But after about fifteen years it quit. Stopped, locked up, froze up, gave up.

When I dumped the oil out of it, there wasn't any. But, it had an oil dip stick, and place to put oil in. Will the surprises never end? It had oil in it when it was bought. Must have been cheap oil. Things simply go better with oil.

Life is like that for most of us. We go and go and go. Then life begins to grind on us hard, metal to metal, then to a halt.

But I've found the best oil ever. I simply go to Jesus for an oil change.
