SALTON SEA

An areal view of the Salton Sea in Southern California.

The Salton Sea is a shallow saline lake located on 

the San Andreas Fault about 236 feet below sea level.

I understand that it varies some in dimension depending

on rain fall and crop runoff, but it is approximately 

15 X 35 miles in size.

MORMON ROCK

I was not driving, but we were on highway 15 North of 

San Bernardio, California in what some call "Cajon Pass", 

if memory serves me correctly.

It was like out of no where comes this small mountain

made out of solid rock.  The picture does not do it justice,

but you get the idea.

I was told it is called "Mormon Rock".

Put any name you want on it, but it sure is

a stand out.

GHOST TOWN?

I know.

There is a business or two in these buildings,

but they looked so much like a "ghost town"

I could not pass them up.

Found them in Phelan, Californial.

WHAT IS IT?

I do not know what it is either.

But with it's location, near the top of a hill

in Wrightwood, CA, makes me think it is

part of an old ski lift.

So, what's so exciting about an old piece of junk?

To some of us guys, it is as exciting as a lady finding

a pretty little flower out in the wild all by it's self.

Nice addition to the trees,
that is if you are a skier.

PLAY HOUSE

A play house in Wrightwood, California.

Since this photo was taken it has been cleaned up,

repainted and looks really nice.  Makes me want to

live in something like it.  Not near so much house to

have to keep clean.  That gives more time to sit on 

the porch.
