Do we even try to understand?
This is a favorite family member, appreciated by
all of the family. Years ago she wanted a Bible.
So, I took her to pick one out. This image was
taken after we got back to the house. One of my
favorite memories.
But, she has grown up now, is out on her own
and succeeding by the worlds standards,
however, her life style indicates she did not
learn anything from the Bible.
This morning I happened to be reading about
king Solomon. The wisest man that ever lived.
But even he came to such a sad ending. God
clearly told him not to have foreign wives because
they would turn his heart away from the one
true God. And they did. He exited this life
worshiping foreign "non gods" to make his wives
happy - to his own undoing.
Is there a streak of rebellion in us that makes
us like the God's own people, the children of
Israel?
God told the prophet Ezekiel;
"Son of man, you live among rebels
who have eyes but refuse to see.
They have ears but refuse to hear.
For they are a rebellious people."
(Ezekiel 12:2 NLT)
God help me to understand and put
into practice what you are trying to
tell me.
