AN OLD KID

This was my wife riding the zip line at Fort
Rock Family camp when she was around
70 years old.  Yes, she was a kid at heart.

My wife was an inspiration in many ways.
She was a hard worker and had little use for
lazy people.  Because of her declining health
she decided she would retire when she got
to 80 years old.  No, she did not make it.
She passed away when she was only 78
years old.

But even then, she was scheduled to work the
day she passed away.  I went into the bedroom
to see why she was not getting up.  She had
passed away during the night sometime.

She had turned herself over to Jesus Christ
in mid life and the last half of her life she
spent living for God the best she knew how.

She reminded me of the Scripture in the
Psalms where it say's;

"But the godly will flourish like palm trees
and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon."
.........
"Even in old age they will still produce fruit;
they will remain vital and green."
(Psalms 92:12 & 14 NLT)

Why do so many of us when we get old want to
retire and spend our time being entertained in
one way or anther when we could still be doing
something worth while?
